What it means to be an EMT: Emergency Medical Technician, a specially trained technician certified to provide basic emergency services (as cardiopulmonary resuscitation) before and during transportation to a hospital or other medical facility. Those services are provided 24/7 to the members of each departments area. Generally dispatched by a 911 operator. Works hand in hand with the local fire fighters and police . It is the EMT's responsibility once on scene to asses the situation and determine the nature and extremity of the patients condition as well as which type of care is needed to be taken while in route to the hospital.

What it means to be a First Responder: a certified first responder has completed 40-60 hours of training in providing care for medical emergencies, typically more skilled than someone just trained in first aid but not an EMT. Serve as a secondary provider with most EMS services. Typically the initial person on scene during an emergency call for help, able to provide limited service while awaiting an ambulance or certified emergency service team member.

What it means to be an Emergency Vehicle Driver: Must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid class 4 (or higher) driver's license, be familiar with local policies, communication equipment and emergency procedures. Posses an in depth knowledge of emergency vehicle traffic regulations for the area pf service. Have knowledge of defensive driving techniques. All in all, the lives of your patient(s) and team are will be in your hands.
